A patch test is carried out after the consultation. There are a couple of reasons for carrying out a patch test, to determine what the most effective settings is for the IPL is in relation to your hair and skin type. We will effectively carry out a patch test for each and every area of treatment. This is because your hair and skin are not the same everywhere on your body.
Secondly, a patch test will indicate to you and us if there are any adverse side effects or problems prior to a full session. Since it is carried out on a small patch of skin, if there are any problems they will be minimal. The test is done at least 48 hours before your first treatment, so that any reactions have time to appear and your treatment plan can be adjusted if necessary to ensure effective results with minimal side effects.
We will contact you 48 hours after the patch test to get some feedback and ascertain if there were any adverse reactions to the patch test. If you are satisfied we will book you in for your first session towards your goal of permanent hair reduction.

IPL Hair Reduction Treatment

IPL Hair reduction Is performed using a hand held flash gun passed across the skin delivering a spectrum of light which targets the melanin.The light travels through the skin until it strikes the hair root/bulb.This is where the highest concentration of melanin is located as the light is absorbed the bulb and the hair is heated destroying the papilla which produces the hair.
IPL Hair reduction requires multiple and constant treatments for the best results, here at Ethereal Beauty we treat the face every 4 weeks and the body every 6 weeks as there are three different hair growth cycles our bodies experience (Anagen, Catagen and Telogen).
The Anagen phase is when the hair is attached to the root and is the only point in time in which laser hair removal treatments can eliminate the hair follicle successfully.At any given point in time, your hair is going through its specific growing phase, which is why multiple sessions are necessary to capture each hair follicle in its anagen phase!
Depending on the area of the body, the growth phases vary.Anywhere between 6-12 treatments may be required.
It is important to note that a blonde, white, red or grey follicles will not respond to IPL as there is no melanin present.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation works by the heat of the device which serves to encourage collagen production, cleanse the pores and prevent free radical damage which can lead to aging.
